I've just finished compiling a list of almost 3000 directories listed by PR (it's taken me almost all day
I've posted them up on my site
I'll hopefully, time permitting be adding more and updating the pagerank around PR update time.
Those of you that submit to directories hopefully you'll find it useful ((URL IN PROFILE))

That's an exhaustive list!
If you were to show which ones were free and which ones were paid, it would be very useful.
Also, I'd be interested to know which directories have a PR value on their link pages, which ones have added your site and how long they took. It would also be good to know which directories use human editors.

While it's a comprehensive list, it's likely most folks won't need or want to submit to all of them.
...and it's a huge amount of work still remaining to determine costs for each directory and whether the directory has any Page Rank to pass you - if they even pass it along at all.
Still, nice to see a long list - just wish it didn't take me 5 clicks to different places to finally reach it.

True it's a large list It took me ages to parse all of the sites to the correct URL and check pageranks, even using find and replace and a bulk pagerank checker!
I'm working on a way of displaying paid directories, the major problem being that that data changes each day as some go paid and others switch back to free submissions. It's a great idea I'm just not sure it's feasable.

I've added a direct link to the page under the 'tools' menu which is available on every page on the right sidebar.

Which ones do you think Google takes seriously, and which do you think they class as link farms and ascribe no trust too -e even if the toolbar shows some PR from them?

Short honest answer?
Not very many! I'm a big advocate of good quantities of targeted relevant links rather than masses of spammy ones. Directory links can help a site get spidered, but I'd be very hesitant about relying on that tactic. I would lead to a very dubious looking link signature.
