I'm trying to get a scope of systems required for a link requesting system.

The other day I started the process by querying google for related sites that I felt would link to me. ( I do need to do this process in bulk for the first little while, as all of my former links were reciprocal in nature )

The immediate problems were:
1) I got bored quickly smile
2) I quickly realized that I'm going to have to phone call the sites that I really want to link to me.
3) I'm going to lose track of the hundreds of sites I need to contact to make this work, while playing the numbers game.

a) I'm trying to get a feel from those hard core incoming link generators. Did you build your own internal system to work this process?
b) Do you use a combination of inhouse and Arelis type products?

I build quality content and let the links find me - it's truly organic, easier on the head, and it works. wink takes time, but it works.

if you're going to be reaching out to sites to request links, this thread might be useful.

hey sportsguy

Nice post...
I'm going to make this link building a priority for 2007...
It seems to be an ongoing process.

I agree, truly organic links take time to build. It's based on credibility to a great degree. To be honest, my sites are at the starting process of building credibility.

With regards to credibility: I was self-trained in SEO to build nicely keyworded pages. Now I'm building pages that are focussed on building credibility for my sites. This is a step from nicely keyworded pages.

Hopefully now the links will follow!

UPDATE:
I decided as a test to make up a campaign where I would have to contact related industry sites and ask for their comments on a subject.

I made an email explaining what I was after.
I contacted 3 businesses so far by phone, and the response has been outstanding. They're excited to help out with my article.

Time consuming yes.. however, extremely good quality information from the experts in their fields.

This is good stuff.
