I'm going through my SEOs contract and just noticed that they never submitted our site to half of the directories we paid for. One is microsoft but I can't even find this directory and it looks like they stopped accepting submissions in Nov 06 (and we signed the contract in Dec so why didn't they know this).

This SEO has been an absolute nightmare to work with. We have done all of the work we paid for: I wrote all of the copy, did all the keyword research, did all of the META, submitted our site to free directories and have contacted dozens of sites to do a link exchange. Maybe 1 of the sites our SEO found linked back. I've gotten about 5 or so. It's been a challenge but our SEO should be doing it, not me.

Sorry about the rant....but what is the status with Microsoft's directory thanks.

I would ask your SEO for you money back...you have done all the work and he/she has been paid!?!

Microsoft's directory is not taking submissions at present.

Microsoft's bCentral directly has been put on hold. I assume that they're going to take that directory and move the content in another area, but nothing has been announced as of yet.

sem4u - Oh I've tried but the upper management in my company doesn't want to deal with the potential legal issue of breaking the contract. The whole thing has been a thorn in my side for a long time now.

My SEO said this in response to bCentral:

"At the time the contract came in b-central started a process of closing out all new submissions, so we also submitted to the current substitute: www.sunsteam.com, just incase the submission was not accepted during the close –out."

I have never heard of the directory sunsteam. I think my SEO is full of BS and I don't believe anything they say. That's why I want to check on here. Please let me know thanks.

Sunsteam seems to be okay, I would look at your site's backlinks in Yahoo! to see if the link is showing up as a backlink.
