MY SEO co was supposed to submit our site to google, aol search, yahoo search, msn search, altavista, hotbot, lycos, open directory, netscape, iwon.com, looksmart, fast search, ask jeeves, teoma, alltheweb.com, dogpile.com, and go.com.
They are very unreliable and didn't submit us to directories (which I was able to track) but how can I tell if they submitted me to the above search engines.
Thanks!

Just go to the engine and perform a search for your domain - if they know about you, it'll be (or should be) the first result).
In fact, you do not submit to the engines - they crawl around and find you, so as long as the site has links pointed at it from other sites, it'll be found.
Just do the quick searches and don't sweat this...unless it's you, and it is, so keep track of anywhere it's NOT appearing and add it to the list of things your management needs to wrap it's head around...

Figured if you hadn't cracked by now, that wouldn't send you over the edge...

Well now my boss is getting involved and now she's really frustrated. Finally she's getting a glimpse of all the BS I've put up with since December. Whereas, I've more or less let it go.

I never submit to search engines. They find you.
Your time is always better spent fixing the site.

You get the search result only if the site is indexed in SEs. No need to submit to search engines, as search engines sourcing the info from directories, it is better to submit only to directories of high PR. Also try to links from relevant sites, it may be one way reciprocal but as long as the links are from relvant site, yr site will get more popularity. Submitting to SE is waste of time.
