I was wondering if there is any tips that you guys can give me for getting into the best catagory? Like which one should I pick?

Also, does yahoo put you into the regional listings?

This looked like a good match to me:
quote:
Home > Business and Economy > Business to Business > Communications and Networking > Internet and World Wide Web > Network Service Providers > Hosting >

I didnt seem to find any METAtags for either description or keywords in your homepage source, but seems like a good idea to me.

I'm not sure if a Web Hosting company would be considered regional by virtue of it's business, although some consumers from the "old school" prefer to do business with someone "local".

Dont worry about the METAtags-- he's got plenty of them in there now!!

The site looks great, but I have a problem withe the following marketing statement:

quote:
most web hosts are only in business for the money...at MyBizHosting, we want to provide our customers with something that others in the hosting industry just don't provide... Caring individualized service

Maybe it's just me, but I think your customers may have a HARD time buying into that statement-- even if YOU THINK it's true.

I dont think the customer will believe your implied statement that YOU are NOT in *IT* for the money. And right away you will cast a shawdow of doubt into the minds of your potential customers.

I also think it would be wiser to talk about why your service is BETTER on it's own merits and not try to make yourself look better by knocking down your competition.

When a company or person starts to tell me about all the "problems" with his competition, it makes me feel as if he/she has NOTHING good to say about his/her own product or service-- so they has MUST resort to making his service "look" better by making the others look "bad". I dont like this marketing technique.

Concentrate on why YOUR SERVICE is BETTER: the products, the support, the equipment, etc.

Just go easy on the HOOPLA and you'll be just fine!

Now I lay my website down to sleep,
I pray to Yahoo reviewers my site to keep.
If I should spam before their sight,
I trust the Lord they'll make it right!

MrChezWiz-- I've found DISHONESTY doesnt FLY to far in the REAL business world. I hope you treat your customers with a little more respect that what you have shown me here in the SEF's.

I take my VALUABLE time to take a look at your site today, and you want to "thank" me by telling me that I was hallucinating earlier when I read the following from YOUR WEBSITE:
quote:
most web hosts are only in business for the money...at MyBizHosting, we want to provide our customers with something that others in the hosting industry just don't provide... Caring individualized service
Would you like me to send you a cached copy of the site? Do you think that I am some sort of WEB SITE MIND reader able to see what your website looked like "a long time ago"?

I dont stink so, Skippy!

I can hear you telling your customers the very same thing...."what do you mean it doesnt work, we fixed that a long time ago!"

Oh my god! Calm down sir.

When I posted about that I changed it, I DID!

I then sat down last night and modified it again while I was looking over the whole site before I submitted my site to yahoo.

I ended up finding a netscape error...

I don't know where you got so much hostility but, please calm down...

smile

Why?

You said, and I quote:

quote:
I changed that part of the site along time ago. What page was that on?

And now you say:

quote:
When I posted about that I changed it, I DID!

[Flame deleted. Please be polite.]

Ok, you want to get technical...

The part that you intially read about the "in it for the money" was OLD. That was changed weeks ago. Thats why I am asking you which page is it on? We still have the old site on our server.

Then after I posted the post, I was anaylizing my site for errors and decided to change the text.

Then I check back and you get all angry...

I am just having a hard time understanding why you got all mad over nothing...

What is your occupation? I see you are self employed....?
