Hello

My web site, is now listed in yahoo. However, since yahoo.com was paid catagory, so i submitted it in yahoo.co.in.

Now the problem is,
1. The description has no keyword in it
2. It is listed too deep - regional > catagory> umpteen catagories > state> city

Obviously, it can't get any traffic. What is the best advised action to be taken in this case ?

Well, they added it regionally, which is what you asked them to do. You want them to change that? Since it was what you submitted I doubt they would, they did what you wanted the first time around.

The description I see is loaded with keywords, I am not sure what you mean. Or are we talking about some other site?

Um, this is a directory. The way directories work, is that they list everything in the deepest category that fits. If your local facility is significantly larger than the city, then this listing is "too deep". Otherwise, it's just right -- until they add topics to the city: then it might be moved deeper yet.

If your business is the kind where you expect many customers NOT to visit your office to do business with you, then you need to get a category related to that topic. If that category charges money for review, then you can't pay the money, because you're already listed.

I don't know how you go about asking for a second listing in a pay-for-review category.

The problem is that I have submitted it in the regional catagory and now i want it in main yahoo catagory. That is exactly the prob, i wish to pay and they still won't consider it for the main catagory.

Even though it has some keywords, it still won't show in the search as it is too deep down.

So many people complain here when Yahoo does not do exactly what asked. You are the first one to complain "they did exactly what I wanted".

It sounds as if you understood where you were submitting, "since yahoo.com was paid catagory, so i submitted it in yahoo.co.in."

The only thing you can do is submit a change request. As it looks like you are attempting to avoid their normal process, and actually to involve more people, time and resources, they are not likely to do it. However, they will not react in any negative fashion if you ask (delete you or anything). If the catagory your site belongs in does not have many listings, or yours is very unique in some way, they may actually do it, as it benefits their surfers. Otherwise, it is back to "is doesn't hurt to ask".

It should still show up in a search. There are two ways to find your site, to dig down through the directory, or to do a search where it will return the categories and website results. At first you won't rank well on a search but over time your site may move up the rankings. I had a site listed at 275 or something and it worked it's way up to number 10 in about 4 months though.

I agree with Lib. One of my sites is doing the same thing - and is also only listed in the regional directory. (Although not as good as a #10 listing yet).

What I don't understand is that when I search for one of my keyword phrases, #46-49 is the same company, just in different catagories and have different description. But all point to same url. Is this just a B2B thing...meaning you can submit as many as you like as long as you pay for it?
