Google hides the true count from people, as many people are trying to game the system by manipulating links.

Arr..
I guess it's too bad for me that I just did major SEO changes (more like major tests since I don't know much about SEO) on the page I am working on and that at the same time Google is testing new stuff..
It will take a while in seeing if what I did was actually good or bad (I guess it won't be too bad though since I just changed the robots.txt file that someone else made that was blocking like 90% of the site's pages )

i usually see changes in listings within 4- 7 days of seo changes I make on pages. Google updates frequently

So should I worry about rankings now? I was on the third page for a competitive search term, but rising, but now I'm on page 18!!
--Questions:
Should I wait till Google calms down and then make changes or keep making changes while it's still updating?
