Hey folks,
Something (kinda) new I stumbled across is LSI. Bascially The big G is able to put words together. eg. your keyword is baseball, it could count words like glove, bat, fielder etc as the keyword
Hope I made that example clear
Here's an example link
Notice how words other to the keyword are highlighted as well.
I personally like this and hope it gets intergrated properly, even tho I'm fairly sure it's been around a while

Very most super excellent and thank you very much. Interesting stuff and I agree - hope they will make more use of the feature.
Now if I could just teach the thing that Harry Potter has nothing to do with pottery. eek

Gr8 dudibob,
Well its a good technique i have used this in couple of my
websites and got very +ve results. Google says nokia to
phone and 5 star to luxury. So if you are going to target
luxury then you have to target 5 star also in the content.
So stem words can also help us in increasing the frequency
of keywords.
Cheers dudibob & All

If you search the word zoo without the ~ Google tries to second guess what you are looking for and supplies multiple sets of results on the first page.
At least it does here in the UK and I notice the results are biased towards UK searchers.

LOL @ Hampstead - that's 'cause ya'll got that strange zooweekly magazine thing and it gets lots of hits.
I tried to take a look but the firewall at work has it well and truly blocked.

I've just revisited this thread and it appears that the ~ symbol is no longer bringing up the LSI results.
I wonder if Google have dropped LSI or whether this was a beta that has been added to the algo in a watered own format?
Any news on LSI?

no official news but I do this search practically everyday, still works for me when I do a ~keyword search.
The thing to remember is that it is still a search so it may not bring up all the different variations but the most relavent sites
