Going through my server stats today, I noticed that someone came to my site after searching on google for my name - Mike Hensley. The very first site listed is mine (bargainstrike.com) and the fourth site listed is also mine (hackslash.net). The weird thing is that my name is NOT on either of those sites anywhere!
How is Google doing this? I first thought that it may be going off of domain registration info. I checked that but both sites are registered to Michael Hensley, not Mike Hensley. Doing a search for Michael Hensley does not bring up my sites, so thats not it.
I then thought it might be using my Google Adwords account info, but that also is set up with Michael as the first name.
I'm out of ideas, how does Google know? It's kinda spooky.

Google's cleverer than it makes out (if thats possible). It'll be a thing called LSI (finds similar words), your case your name, then matched this against your Who Is data for your domain name I'm guessing.
not sure if thats it, could be me getting ahead of myself

Have you submitted any articles out there?
Perhaps there is an inbound link with your name on it.

Very few pages come up when I do a search for links pointing to either of these domains. But now that you mention it, its possible that my many forum memberships all have homepage links pointing to one of my sites. Perhaps that is the reason.
