Hi,

I'm desperate now. My site, creme-de-languedoc, is not ranking on Google at all - despite my search terms being very niche and uncompetitive. I've tried everything.

Can anyone suggest a Search Engine Optimisaiton consultant I can hire to help me? Preferably someone who accepts payment on results...

Thanks,

- Greg

did we have a place for this type of post? I don't think it was google...

Greg, sit tight on hiring for a moment, this forum isn't the place to be desperate in, it'm more of a discussion smile

Look at the other responses around you and then ask questions.

Your website would be a push over to optimise, it is so simple, you could do it yourself, if you allowed yourself! smile

Hi Trentham,

The site looks good with lots of individual titles, descriptions and content.

One small point, at first glance you need a 301 redirect on cremedelanguedoc.com

This is listed in Googles database and could be an issue as it links to your current website through the default page.

I checked out your web agency who list you under their seo success list, you could bring pressure to bear on them and try and leverage some action.

I beg to differ... I had a look and don't consider it to be. Not in light of all of the information available to you within these forums and elsewhere. Even Google would suggest to you to look at your website from an accessiblity point of view. Check it in a text browser and then let me know if you have nothing to optimise for your search term.

Don't take me wrong here, I am trying to help smile

How do I look at it in a text browser?

I have tracked Trenthams input over the last few weeks and I think this post is probably appropriate as he is talking in reference to general Google issues and his website in many previous posts.

Of course he could post in the hire an agency part of the forum but I think this is a cry for help in relation to Google, pretty much the same as 70% of the posts in here.

Lets see how we can help him.

I agree with you Excell that there is much to be done but I am still suprised that there is Zilch in the way of listings. I would of expected the niche terms to be somewhere in the first 100.

But if you look - the term is not defined - it is obscured.

I see also there is a dilution via links.

I don't know what this term really means, but I do work with the tourism/accommodation industry and things don't look right.

Thank you! I'm sure there's a lot more I can do - but to not come in the top 1000 for very niche terms suggests to me that I'm doing something Google really doesn't like.

Is it holiday accommodation?

What do you mean 'it is not defined - it is obscured' and 'there is a dilution via links'?

Thanks,

I have lost my copy of favorite on-line lynxviewer link to give you, but here is a temporary one...
Go to: [link]
Plug in your URL and tell me if what you see is "balanced" to your main search term?

No, ok there is a START! Hurray.

Well...not sure quite what I'm looking at here - but looks pretty good to me. Lots of 'Languedoc' and 'property'...

What I mean, is - if you are trying to rank for a "search term" that if your website is about something else or you are in a neighbourhood about something else it would be unlikely that you would appear for your main search terms...I don't think I am explaining very well, so I will just tiptoe out and let someone else pickup...

'Languedoc' is just a region of France - like 'California' is in the US. So 'property for sale in Languedoc' is just as it seems...

Your main pages need to be optimised and the broad association to other travel wesite via links dropped, you need to get some meat on ya bones smile

Does anyone have a better link for an available on-line text viewer please?

'holiday in australia' isn't on the homepage. We have links to other property and holiday sites on our links page - but not on the homepage.

Check this one out:

No URLs or Links in Posts - Thanks

Very broad range of links - and they rank really well on Google.
