    Hey,
My site has been up for over a year.

I know that Google generally does not show inbound links. But, never has Google "seen" ANY inbound links (not even one)to my site.... until today.

Should I be encouraged by this? Or should I take it with a grain of salt.

    Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't worry about what Google shows for backlinks. They don't show the proper number of backlinks on purpose. For a more accurate view of the correct number of backlinks a site or a page has, use Yahoo! or MSN.com.

Yep, google do not show all backlinks. But while giving PR google counts each link. If you want to know total number of backlinks then use yahoo.

on Yahoo, linkdomain:yourdomain.com will show you all links to your site.

As long as you have some, pay no attention to what Google actually reports.
