Strange thing is happening ...

The homepage (frontpage http://www.*****.com/) rank PR0, but all other pages have PR 4.

This does not make sense to me. All the pages have the same text navigation and I submitted to google's Sitemap--All the pages are indexed on google.

What especially puzzles me is when I go to google Sitemap, it indicates that my highest pagerank is the homepage (frontpage http://www.*****.com/)

I checked my robot.txt and I didn't find anything that will exclude the homepage... By the way, I am using Joomla content management system. index.php is supposed to be the homepage - but on the sitemap, I put the homepage as http://www.*****.com/

(Should I put index.php as homepage?)

Anybody experienced this? Can anyone help me resolve this problem? Although I know that PR is overated, I work with people who value the PageRank.

Thank you for your attention in advance...

I had some problems years ago with this issue but I dont think it is really relevant now.

Hopefully someone with recent info will chime in.

Realistically pages not in the sitemap should be getting normal PR.

Have you been doing bad quality links? Has someone been doing them for you like an automated scraper site?

Look at who is linking to you in Google.

Thank you amoebamarketing for your suggestion. I looked into the quality of links.

When I typed in "*****.com" and clicked on "link to" on google, I found good reliable links. However, when I typed in "*****" ---I found that there are many sites that shows www.*****.com that are not shown in "link to".Many of them are bad quality links....

And yes, this website used other SEO person before me....

Does this mean bad links are causing PR to be "0"? If so, how can I remove them?
