I was just checking some cached versions of some sites by just typing in the domain name (I know you can do cache:www.domain.com but I'm lazy wink) and is it me or does Google usually just return that domain!?

I was checking my results on 66.249.93.104 and Google is treating the search as a query and not looking for the specific domain, hell some of the pages that links to the website outranked the website for it's domain name (the domain was 10th)!!! It displays the domain when you type in http://www.domain.com, but not for www.domain.com What's going on?

They changed the functionality of a simple "www.domain.com" search just yesterday.

You can get to the information that you require by using info:domain.com instead.

that's pretty cool, thanks for that G1, btw, do Google inform you of any changes before they do them!? lol

why would Google remove that feature, it was a plus for them since they were the only search engine to be able to tell the difference between a domain search and a search query!? strange...

I though I saw something different yesterday.

Perhaps they're tired of folks using their search functionality as an address bar...?
