Hello friends,
My site is about 4 years old and is quite steady on the Google as well as other enginges. My current PR is 4 with good quality content. To maintain my rankings on google I am currently doing a campaign to get more quality links. I am expecting to get about 50 - 100 links by submissions. Could a sudden boost in my links (about 50-100) hurt me site in any way ?
I currently have about 150 links. Thanks.

It isn't the quantity, but the quality! Focus on that.
Ten really good links could beat a site with hundreds of off-topic unrelated low-quality links anytime.

Thanks g1smd. I am only going to get quality links. But would a sudden boost of quality links could hurt my site/ranking in any way ?

I very much doubt it. If you are worried about this just do a few at a time - spread it over time.
I think what gets flagged up by the engines is 20/30k inbounds overnight
BTW - Welcome to SEF
