Why on some domains that are indexed in Google can you check the cache using either h**p://www.mydomain.com or www.mydomain.com.

For my site (see profile) I can only check the cache using www.mydomain.com.

Google has made some changes recently, whereas when you used to search for the domain name using www.domain.com they would single out the search domain in the search results and ask if you wanted to see all the pages on the site, the cached version, etc. etc. Now they are showing different results.

It used to be that if a domain was banned or removed from the index they would tell you that they don't know anything about that domain. Again, that's changed.

I'm still trying to figure out why Google is doing what it's doing and when it shows certain results and when it doesn't show certain results, especially when it comes to looking up domains.

When it comes to the results you're getting when you look up your particular domain, there's really no right answer; no one but Google really knows. So, I wouldn't put too much into it.
