How can a site rank at postion 3 or 4 on moderately competitive terms and have no PR and no back links compared to sites around it?
eg
((URL REMOVED)) for rugs
or
((URL REMOVED)) for wedding favors
Both have no back links or PR.
Does this mean they will soon disappear from serps?

The first site you mention has 925 backlinks. The second one has 57,000 backlinks.
I'm assuming you are checking backlinks in Google for those sites? Google doesn't show all the backlinks they know about. I checked the backlinks in Yahoo! for those sites; they show the correct number of backlinks.

Yes, i was meaning google backlinks.
The thing is, the other sites on the google serps page all have google back links from 30 to 80 and PR4 and PR5
Yet my sample sites have nil PR and nil Backlinks on googe yet still rank in #3 and #4 positions in google results.
How is this possible?
