I have a site (see profile) that's been online for about 4 weeks; I submitted a sitemap to google, which has been downloaded by google every couple of days with 2800 'urls submitted', and a status ok 'OK'.
It took a couple of weeks before any pages were indexed, starting with the homepage and the sitemap itself. over the next week or so each day more and more pages were indexed - up to about 150 at one point. A bit slow but at least in the right direction.
However, over the last week the number of indexed pages has been going down again to the point now where there are only 6 pages indexed and 4 of those are hidden.
So what happened? Is this normal? Will it go back up again?
My site is quite big, and fairly deep - is that a bad thing? Also, a lot of the indexed pages changed every couple of days could that be hurting the ranking?
[I'm a new user and I did try to search for similar situations, but was at a bit of a loss of what search terms to use for this situation...]

I think this is quite normal, it is happening with one of my websites. To start with we have 900 indexed pages, then it went back to about 300. Now it is around 500 and increasing day by day.
