Hi, I've heard a lot about Google using Whois to find webrings or to catch spammers, I have a friend who had 60.000 domains (that's what he claims) and none of them were giving him any revenue from Google referrals, he started using his gf's name to register domains and is now making $20k a month from Google.

So what do you think, does Google use Whois or is it just a myth?

    Thanks

...may be. They can, if they want.

Google is a domain name registrar themselves - they see all the deets on domains anyway - they know who owns what... wink

From what I've read though - isn't it true that the length of your domain registration doesn't really matter like people may say it does?

Yes Google uses whois so do the Dmoz editors when they are on a purge.

Domain age can be a plus or a minus depending on its history, its not black and white.

How long you've had the domain (it's age) I've heard could affect your rankings slightly but there are a lot of people who think how far into the future you have your domain registered for is important for SEO purposes but I've read that it really has no affect.

Most domains are 2 years old, the one I am testing right now has 1 1/2.

Does anyone think that if I try some gray hat seo I should change the whois on all the domains I will use on that seo effort?
Just to avoid getting all of them flagged or penalized, we are not doing anything too aggressive just trying to get as many pages indexed as possible 200 a day by Google and Yahoo.

    Thanks
