HI y'all, for some reason Google is ingnoring my descriptions on several pages, and is using the links on the left side of my pages for the descriptions instead, and they have fell into supplemental. If someone has the time, could you please check one page, (I put it in my profile) to see if I may have messed something up somewhere? I'm pretty stumped on why Google is doing this.
Thanks in advance!

From the page listed in your profile:
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">
<meta name="title" content="Chocolate Banana Shake Recipe">
<meta name="GENERATOR" content="Microsoft FrontPage 5.0">
<meta name="ProgId" content="FrontPage.Editor.Document">
<title>Chocolate Banana Shake Recipe</title>
<meta name="Microsoft Border" content="tlrb">
</head>
<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF"><!--msnavigation--><table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tr><td>
<p><!-- Casale Media 2007 (C) -->
<!-- Ad Format: Pop Under -->
<!-- Domain(s):
1 - you have the title mentioned twice in the head area.
2 - you have no description meta data
3 - you have no keywords meta data
4 - you have pops running on that page and Adsense - Google doesn't allow their ads to show on pages that run pops - might want to check on that yourself to make sure you're in the clear here.

OOPS! Sorry about that! That was just one of many, and I didn't realize that one didn't have a description. Okay, I understand why that one isn't using my description! As far as the title being mentioned twice, I thought you used just the regular title tag for search engines that didn't use the meta tags, and the meta tags for the ones who did? So, what is the best way on that? Regular title tags, or meta title tags? I honestly didn't know you couldn't use both. I have changed some of the ones that are in supplemental adding a description, and also better ones, but those pages are still in supplemental and have been that way for ages now. Maybe it's because of the two title tags then?
I didn't know Google adsense didn't allow popups being run with the adsense ads. I've seen tons of websites use both, so I thought you could. Thanks for pointing that out to me, and for taking the time. Although, these pages did go supplemental before I added the adsense code.

No worries on the Adsense issues - like I said, though, be sure to review the rules for yourself and play by them.
Adsense rules violations wouldn't result in pages going supplemental - the ads just stop showing.
Using two title tags - personal call, IMO. I just use <title> and go from there - others may advise different - I'd just never advise anyone to use both.
Now, we could simply be looking at a situation here where Google doesn't feel the description (meta) and the content on the page is what it wants to show. Happens all the time.
They feel the content they're pulling is more representative of the content of the page overall, so they skip your description and show their own data in their results.
So, be certain, like 1000% certain, that the content on the page is unique to you and you alone. It's tough with recipes, as the recipe is the recipe, and changing it enough to make it different form others who have posted the same recipe (or something similar) means changing the recipe itself - so that simply doesn't work.
So, same recipe as others? Get cracking on 200 - 300 words of unique content to wrap around the recipe itself on the page. Lots of work? Yep, for sure.

Okay, thanks a bunch for helping! So, it's nothing I did wrong as far as the format of the links on the left side at all? It's just my descriptions, titles, and non unique content, in your opinion? Again, thanks so much for your time.

It's just my descriptions, titles, and non unique content,
...ah, some what blunter than I had intended to deliver the message, but yeah...
...and what's with the odd things in the links list? I mean, the casino listings actually make a bit of sense given the content is actually about the local casinos in the area, but the domain name hosting one takes me to a page that looks nothing like the originating site, despite being in a folder on the domain...
Just curious, more than anything. but I will say this - resource/authority sites do not do this type of stuff. They stick to only items that are directly related.
I didn't look through all the links, but those stood out to me in the code - this isn't likely to hurt you unless you've got a lot of off-site links to bad sites.

I can't remember what the meta title tag was once used for, but there is no need to use it now, or at any time so far this millennium.

Okay, thanks, I just read in a lot of places that Google usually likes meta tags, thanks for letting me know.
