If I develop a web site that has a domain name close to that as a domain name of a site with porn on it - can I in any way via the SE be associated with the porn site?
example only !
xyz.yes
xyz101.yes
xyz is a porn site
xyz101 is my site and is not a porn site

the name shouldn't be an issue, except if the site that your name corresponds with is a well known or dare i say a branded porn site to searchers.
as long as you have a different IP block and your neighborhood is good, you should be fine.

The sites rank for some "odd" terms but nothing particularly bad has come of that.
They are not automatically assumed to be "bad" sites or in a bad neighbourhood.
