Google's PageRank Shuffle: Big Sites Say Bye-bye, Traffic?
Peter Kafka October 24, 2007 3:15 PM
That anguished cry you're hearing? That's the sound of of Web sites around the world screaming after Google throttled their search traffic overnight -- perhaps by as much as 96%. We're just getting our head around Google's apparent decision to punish sites that use paid links, by reducing their PageRank, but we're told it could have tectonic effects on Web traffic.

I see the whole of the SEO bit of the web lit up with chatter about decreased PageRank.
Lots of people were hit hard.

Several types of spammer, the pay per link brigade, and other related junk, were all hit quite hard I understand.

It's not all bad; if someone went down, someone else went up.
I wonder who got rewarded for Good behaviour?

Some of the directories promoted heavily at DP were hit.
All of my sites stayed the same.

Wow.
It's almost two years since the first link exchanges started getting whacked ... isn't it time someone at DP woke up and smelled the coffee.
Every time Google tweaks, they scream in agony.
It's not neanderthal - it's cro-magnon!

fun? NO!
interesting? if you define interesting as pulling hair out until wee hours of the mornings trying to figure it all out and regaining your web sites ground - then maybe lol

Hi
It is true and now this become a routine which e-business owners are facing after every 6 months. E-marketers or Search Engine Optimization Specialist can only focus on a latest Google announcement and abide the instructions accordingly. But does'nt have a power to direct Google for actions!
But in end heroes are those Search Engine Marketing specialist whose websites are lingering on the old top positions with out much difference!
Cheers
