I have had serious errors with my gorvray.com directory page and with my sitemap. I believe I have cleared them all up. Google now says my Sitemap is OK, and W3C Validator has validated my Home Page. However, Google continues to tell me there is one last error. Here is a list of relevant information:

    *Website URL:
    [link]

    *Google Error Message:
    URL,Detail,Last Calculated
    http://gorvray.com/Gordon's%20Travels/ArgentinaUruguay/slides/Lightpole.html,Network unreachable,"Dec 5, 2007"

*Actual Name of Sub-directory: Gordon’s Travels

*From On-line Editor here is URL for Gordon’s Travels:
    Gordon%27s%20Travels/index.html

    *From New Sitemap:
    210.5[link]2007-08-

    *Another Sitemap URL:
    210.5http://gorvray.com/Gordon's%20Travels/Glaciers/slides/Glacieredge.html2007-08-

Does Gordon's%20Travels = Gordon%27s%20? And if they do equal each other, what is the problem?

Or, is this error likely to disappear with the next Google crawl, probably around New Year's.

Is there a way of getting crawled sooner?

Note: The reason all this concerns me is that when the sitemap problem started, followed by the Home Page problem (all caused by me), my Google PageRank went from 8 to 1. It still resides at 1.

The %20 is because you have left a space in the directory name.

You shouldn't have spaces anywhere in directories or file names.

That said, it's unlikely to have been the problem. It's more likely to be a glitch, but clean the code up anyway.

PR 8 down to 1 is a concern and very unlikely to be as a result of unreachable files. Did you use a link buying service?

Thank for the reply and the information.

I have no paid links, either incoming or outgoing. I do have on my Home Page a link to Who Links to Me? Their page is laced with online gambling promotion. Could this be the problem? I only put it on there so that I could readily learn what my GoogleRank is. That is how I learned my PR had reached 8, only to see it drop to 1. A week ago I learned how to get the ranking direct from Google, but have not removed the WLtM link yet (thought some visitors might be interested).

I do have a couple of incoming links (I signed up for free) from Directory 2.

Other than that I have only legitimate incoming links, including online forum help such as this.

Link to "/" not to "index.html" each time.
