I have recently adjusted my hm pg copy to include several keywords, they are all in bold. So I guess I want to know if the followin seo assumptions are correct:

1) The first words of a site's copy are giving a lot of weight by google. Therefore you want to have your most important keywords at the top of your home page.

2) Repitition of keywords does not help

3) The size and font of keywords effect how google analyzes them, so you cant just take a list of keywords and shrink the font to extremely small and bury it at the top of the hm pg.

4) The most important page to list keywords would be the Home page, because the crawler reads that first.

* Remember these are only my current assumptions so please educate me if I am incorrect.:D

I wouldn't characterize it as a lot of weight, but yes, keywords should be near the top. And this applies to each and every page - they are all gateways into your site, not just the home page.

Bingo

3) The size and font of keywords effect how google analyzes them, so you cant just take a list of keywords and shrink the font to extremely small and bury it at the top of the hm pg.

Yes - but again, employing the correct usage of bold and italicized text can help - mostly it helps the users, but helping users = more links in the long run. Using the H1/H2/H3 tagging method of labeling section on a page and using the keywords/phrases in those tags is a small, helpful touch.

4) The most important page to list keywords would be the Home page, because the crawler reads that first.

Each page should be optimized for it's own keyword or phrase, thus each page acts as an entry way into your site and every page is put to work to rank well for their own phrases. It's a personal preference, but I follow the one-keyword/phrase-per-page school of thought.

A page with various keywords in bold does not look good to visitors. Firstly, it will not bring the ranking boost that you hope for, and more importantly, it might even make the visitor leave your site because you are "trying too hard".

Headings are important. Those are usually several words that sit above, and introduce, each section of the page. Those are considered by search engines, and compelling to visitors. Do not ignore the usage of headings throughout the content on your pages.

I typically focus on 3 key phrase per page, but agree with basically everything so far that has been said. I see plenty of examples of hi traffic keywords with pages ranking first page that have virtually NO keywords that it's ranking for anywhere on the home page. This is always confusing and frustrating.
