A loan company accessed my Google Adwords account and ran up over $2000.00 in clicks in 2 days. They actually put in a new Campaign with an Ad.

    How did this happen?

Spoke to Google and their fraud division is looking into it.

To my knowledge, the only way into the account is via the user's account, so they'd need your e-mail and password... sad

Keep in touch with G and see what they come up with.

Check your computer for spyware programs and I mean spyware of the very malicious type, the type of programs that let outsiders see what is on your computer. Also ensure that some zombie bot program is NOT running on your computer. Zombies are set up to mail out various data from your computer to the originator so they can gather data from your computer. If your computer has login records of some sort (let's admit most of us do store login info on our computers) the zombie bot can mail the data back to the hacker.

..Or some hacker has gained direct access to your computer and is grabbing info from it.

To stop this crap, you really need to have a software Firewall (ZoneAlarm was reputedly the best). Also, your router should have some firewall rules in place too via the control panel. If your router does not have firewall controls within the control panel, then you'll need to get a more updated router with firewall capabilities.

Also as always, be current with your anti-virus with updated virus definitions.
