I have researched through SERPs and other resources on websites and it seems like it only shows up to about 65 characters for the title tag. The most I have come across was 69 characters if you end it at that exact amount. If continued, it leaves you with your last keyword before it hits 65 and adds "..." after it.

So I was wondering would it be better to leave it at an exact amount of 69 (depending on your keywords) or keep adding other keywords beyond that number? Does Google still value the keywords past 69 or so characters as much as the ones before?

Thanks.

Make the title tag as long as it needs to be, enough to announce what that page is all about.

Be aware of the limit, but also know that Google indexes many more words than they can show.

Make the title appealing enough to click on, and leave it at that. The minutae isn't worth the time.

Phrail, remember, a descriptive Title is what helps the clickthrough from the SERP's to your website. Ideally, you want the Title to reflect the content of your page, and as such they should be concise and to the point. Granted, browsers nowadays handle anywhere from 60 to 80 characters in the Title bar up at the top, but keeping it brief and to the point should mitigate any pro's of having an extremely long Title.

Keyword Rich Descriptive Title is the first impression of any website on Search Engine. And it should be created according to the defined length, Google do not show the title more than 65 characters but Yahoo supports some more characters (up to 70).
We can put all the relevant keywords of the page in the title according to their importance, as per the required length.

All the best.
