Have seen some buzz on this recently and checked myself. HOTELS london, hotels London, and hotels london bring slightly different results - and some SEO software guys already adjusted their apps for that, for instance Rank Tracker.
What d'you think of this? Google still claims it's not case-sensitive...

I have never seen any evidence that Google is case sensitive, and have not seen different results as you describe.
There are, of course, different Google data centers and different country Googles, as well as more or less personal Googles.
You'd need to conduct your comparisons in highly controlled circumstances to produce any reliable evidence.
BTW, would you mind not link-dropping in every post? Thanks!

There have been several comments in recent weeks that case does play a part in the results, but many assume it is a bug or unintended consequence and that you can't optimise for it...

I've had this problem with clients that type IN CAPTIALS ALL THE TIME and it screws results and they get all fired up and angry
