Has anyone seen their Google organic keyword results change dramatically in the last 24 hours? I can't seem to find any news on things Google may be doing to affect organic listings. Thanks.

Sure...

Site is www.jeastwood.com
It was appearing organically on Google under these keywords...

dissertation editor - #1 and #2
dissertation editing - #6
apa editing - #10
doctoral dissertation editor - #1 & #2
master's thesis editor - #2 & #3
journal article editing - #3

These placements were appearing since Jan 2008, but for the last year or so, they've been about the same position, with a few minor changes up or down.

Since this past Friday, only doctoral dissertation editor appears as #2 and a new one appeared, which is thesis editor as #9

We had a paid sponsored keyword campaign on Yahoo for the last 2 or 3 years, which was comprised of the same keywords as the first group I listed, which we cancelled last week due to no referrals; they weren't generating any clicks. When those went off, the organic listing in Google disappeared. It is an odd coincidence perhaps?

Lots of people are reporting changes that happened on June 4th and 5th.

I have noticed a minor reshuffle with the sites I look after. Only minor though with only one search phrase disappearing.

In my experience, things normally come back to how they were as long as you use only white hat techniques.

I remember the massive reshuffle during the Florida update. Rankings went haywire. I simply ignored it and after a couple of months all came back again.

If you can get a link to other people with similar problems, see what you can glean otherwise check your site for any black hat techniques and clean them up if there are any.

BTW - it's frowned upon to have your URL in the post. Can you add it to your profile please?

Yes, sorry on the URL. We're not using any black hat techniques. We could rework our tags, but I hate to change if it's all going to come back in a few days.

I wan't aware of the Florida update, what happened exactly and when was that? I'd like to check my records and logs from that date.

And does anyone know if there is an new issue with load time on Google, would a longer page load time drop our organic rank? We do have an animation on the home page that takes about 12 seconds to finish, however, it's not the only thing there, you can see text on the page while this is happening. Thanks!

It may come back, but it may not. My personal experience is that it does. If it was me, I'd wait a month or two.

The Florida update got everybodies knickers in a twist back in 2003. Search for it and you'll find info.

The page load time shouldn't make a difference as long as links are available to follow before the page has completed loading.

That keyword didn't disappear. The other 5 did and are still gone.

From my 2nd post: Since this past Friday, only doctoral dissertation editor appears as #2 and a new one appeared, which is thesis editor as #9
