Hi - Been out of this game for some time and need an update.
Does the sandbox effect still exist?
Also, what is the prescribed method fo launching a new site on a new URL?

Thanks for all your help here guys. It's much appreciated.
Now, where can I find a decent forum where members bother to help?

For some reason your post didn't appear on the "active topics" list.
Yes, there is something that new sites have to pass through before being properly indexed and ranked. No-one is quite sure what it is... but it is related to "quality" and "trust" as well as to links. If you "try too hard" or deviate too far from what other similar sites did, then you don't get credit for it. It can take from several months to a year to pass through, but the effects are not quite as marked as they were when this effect was first noticed.
