This thread is to everyone that think they have gotten a penalization.
This is only so we have the data compiled i on thread and then we can see if we find any connection.
And if you have used cloaking on the site you don't need to post in this thread.

my sites were included in this update, however my money maker has no inbound links/page rank according to Google. I don't cloak, I do not have any redirects, nor do I have any automatic pop ups. what have I done to deserve this?Google tried to re-invent the wheel, and should have just left well enough alone. I might get scoffed at, but one day this will blow up in their faces.

OK folks I have a few ideas..but wanted some thoughts.
In last months index I had 320 backwards links, and a PR of 6. In the new index..I have a PR of 2, with 0 backwards links.
However if you do a search for URL's that contain my link, they are all still there..same as before. If you do a search in the new index for allinurl: and my site, you see about 202 matches...so SOME of my pages are still in the new index..but not all. My index page is one thats missing...however in the new index there is a cache of it? I'm kinda confused as to what might have happened, but I think that some of my pages were dropped and my index page might have been one of them? Ideas?

? Google does not want doorway pages on their web site. That is the only thing that makes it spam. Engines allowing doorways would be OK with this.This doorway would not have been found without someone turning them in previous to the last indexing. So, thinking about the possiblity that they tweaked their algorythim to spot this kind of spam (spot the linking method). If this is true, they need to tweak it again, as some sites (a LOT of sites) filtered out were NOT doorways. If this is the case the non-spamming sites should find all is well again here soon. Excellent advice was given in another thread this morning by Kaycee. Don't count on any one source for traffic. We saw how terrible that can be with Altavista and Infoseek.

Janet,If that is a doorway page then any page that contains links to other pages on the site is a doorway page. Hate to disagree with you being new here, but in this instance you are wrong. Ban me if you wish but to pull up a site and declare that it is a SPAM page or a doorway page when it is not is wrong and that webmaster deserves an apology. Mike Chambers
