I heard on this forum before that Google treats an inbound link from Yahoo the same way it treats any other link to your site. The idea is that the Page Rank of the page is still th only reason why a link from Yaho or DMOZ is worth so much.I realized that a lot of the sites that I have in Yahoo are listed on category pages that have relatively low PR (3,4, or 5). If I get another site to link to me with a Page Rank of 6 or 7, does anyone know if Google would count that as more valuable than a PR 5 from Yahoo? I really hope that this theory is tru, since it means it DEFINITELY wont be worth it for me to submit sites to Yahoo any more. I can just get other high PR sites to link to me - for a lot less than $299 per year! Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer here.

I appreciate the advice, but I must say I disagree. The value of inbound links from other sites has far more value in terms of increasing your link popularity than the resulting traffic it brings. As for Yahoo, being listed there has become almost worthless so I would never submit to Yahoo just to try and get traffic... and thats with naililng the top of yahoo search and category every time. Can anyone else tell me if Google weights a link from Yahoo according to its link pop just like every other site?

Yes, Google does weight a link from Yahoo according to its link pop just like every other site.

I stopped spending my time on getting a good page rank with Google. I wish webmasters would stop designing their websites aroud Google. Yahoo is still a good search engine, and my site still gets plenty of hits even though I've stopped playing by Google's rules.
