Hi, all -
Client is doing some load testing on their newly redesigned site, and is wondering about best practices or recommendations regarding metrics that should be used to determine the peak load on the system. Should they use page views? Number of simultaneous visitors? What do you guys recommend as the metric to use?
Any help, much appreciated!

Peak Load on the server is based on the number of hits it can serve in a given period of time. Simulating the serving of files is easier with automated tools.
You probably need a ballpark figure for comparisons about the user data. Page Views will be appropriate for websites with plenty of content. Unique visitors will be more relevant for commercial sites. It all depends on the individual situation.
