Hi, I just joined and would like to ask a few questions...pretty simple (probably stupid) questions. My youngest brother is a webdesigner and he is supposed to be helping to teach me website basics (by the way, never have a younger sibling teach you things) but he is extremely busy right now so I am trying to learn a little on my own. I'm mostly interested in web maintence however, I do want to learn to make one. I would like to just start out with html and learn the other types as I go. I'm not sure where to start or what you can do/can't do. A friend of mine wants me to build and run a simple real estate site for her (nothing real fancy)but I'm kind of lost as to where to start. Do I have to build a web template or can I use a free one-or are those only to practice on...what about images and what programs will I need to have on my pc to edit the site. My brother says I need Photoshop 7, Paintshop Pro 8 and DreamweaverMX...I have the PSP8 and know fairly well how to use it. I'd appreciate any help I can get. Thank you, Tina

Hi Tina
Welcome to the forums
If you have photoshop then I would go with the suggestion about Dreamweaver - it is an excellent piece of software. Also if your brother uses it he will be able to help you a little.
Just jump in and have a go - and if you want the site to be successful on the web you MUST learn a little about optimising it. There is help for you here with both building sites and optimising them.
Good luck!
