Well I think your first step is choosing a language to work with. If you're going to use a Microsoft product you'll need to use something like Access to create a MS .db. Excel is only going to give you a spreadsheet. You could look at something like PHP with MySQl for your database work. You'll also need some kind of editor to work with your pages and files, 'Crimson Editor' is free and pretty good to use. Basic scripts like refer a friend and contact forms are around by the thousands, and they're easy to find. You'll find a large selection in any language you choose (Javascript, PHP, ASP, Perl etc.). You can either try searching through Google or checking a site like [link] for one. I would think it would probably be easier to start with a few simple scripts like those to get your feet wet before you tackle a database- it can get pretty involved. Then as far as the database goes, you might want to check the same site for a script that is already programmed to do what you want. You'll probably find it under 'content management' then follow the instructions to install and use it as you need to. Its probably easier at this stage of the game to start with something like that. Best of luck and welcome to the forums. smile

Thank you for your help...
I finally bought a contact script.... as for the database, I guess I'll just work around it.

I've decided to take a web class at the local college... finally!

Thanks again!!
