Hello again,
I am in the middle of developing some web sites for a couple of
companies, and just happen to come across this forum to ask if any
one would be able to give me some information on webdevelopment fees.
If anyone at all can give me the basics/average fees for development
of web sites, I would really appreciate it very much.
I would really like to have fee information, for example:
Hosting Fees
Set Up Fees
Disk Space-how much space website is limited to
How much for the home page plus any additional page(s)after
Domain Name
Additional Disk Space
Designing Services
page limitation fees? - ex: $12.00 for 10 web pages or $1.00 a page
Like I said before, any help is appreciated if anyone can help, and
if anyone can add fees I may have not mentioned above, please do
any help is thankful.
Hera are two sites I have done so far, their not much but I'm still trying
to make them as professional as possible, don't mind the content, their kind of
just samples for now. Just copy and paste info into the search tool bar.
**One is for the SCJVS school site and the second one is for Nile Township**
[please keep your urls in your profile. link dropping is not allowed here]
THANKYOU PEOPLE !!!!!!:D

Hi Sabrina,
I'm not sure you can put average figures on per page web design. It all depends on many different aspects. For example: Are the pages dynamic? Do you have to program any code (Php, cgi, etc)? Are you designing the graphics? Are you sourcing stock photos? Does the client require seo? Are you wrting the copy (page text) for the site? The list could go on..
Some web design firms charge thousands to design a site. A lot of companies won't quote per page, some do it per hour, others use a set fee.
The best thing to do would be work out how many pages the client wants, then work out roughly how long it will take you to finish the site. Let's say for exmaple that it'll take you 12 hours solid work (this could be spread out over a few days of course). You'll have to ask yourself "How much is 12 hours of my time worth?".
Make sure you're covering any costs and add a small profit.
With regards to hosting, search on google for "low cost web hosting". There's loads of companies offering affordable web hosting. I use supanames and pay around £30 ($58) per year for a pretty decent linux hosted package.
Hope this helps,
Will

scjvs, you need to ask yourself "what sorts of costs do you incur doing web site design." Don't forget that you need to cover your hardware/office costs, health insurance, state and federal taxes. These are costs that need to be factored into your client billings. It's very easy to find yourself not making enough to cover business costs and a decent living. You also got to think about the time/money it costs for you to learn and keep up with web technology. That's all worth something.
It's not too much of a stretch to charge $2,000 for a relatively basic 10 page web site w/GUI layout, some form handling and PERL programming.
