I'm interested in a domain but i dont want to pay over the odds for it. At the moment its a shocker of a page. One thing is there and it doesn't work. I've not had much luck contacting people with regards to buying their domain name in the past, so i could wait this one out.

Is there a technique to this? What happens if some fat cat gets you domain before you can. Come up with a better domain? well sadly this domain is more than perfect for what i would like.

patience is not a virtue that i have

If you really want to grab a domain the moment it becomes available then the best thing to do is to use a service to do it for you.

There services like Pool.com which will allow you to place a 'backorder' on a domain. If they are able to win the domain for you (on your behalf) then you pay them. You only pay if they get it for you.

Others who do this are snap.com and namewinner.com.
