I would like to create a site allowing approved authors to post their articles on html pages and create categories using an interface similar to the DMOZ editors interface. How to do this? Where to start? So far I have been making only static html sites.

look into a cms or blog type solution, if you don't know programming you'll have to find the cms that most closely meets your specific needs, they are all very different.

Be careful though, some have very bad seo urls, and most require special extensions or mods to create good urls, and most of those mods aren't very good.

Thanks! You are correct that I don't have any progrmming experience. I tried blogger, but they don't allow to actually classify the pages by category, subcategory etc.

For the time being I am building the website in question by hand, but at times it gets a bit heavy, with 10-20 new pages per day to add, each in their own category / subcategory. The site now has 300 pages, but will reach several thousands very fast. An interface identical to DMOZ would be ideal, but I suppose it is proprietary?
