i'm looking to set-up a dedicated server with a hosting company. i was going to go with aplus but the sales guy left a bad taste in my mouth. i'd prefer not to go with godaddy because i've had some bad experiences with them in the past with shared hosting. Any suggestions of another provider?

Hmm, we don't usually do endorsements here, but verio, westhost, and rackspace, seem to get good reviews all over...

I personally use GoDaddy. Good uptime, easy to track the billing, and their customer service is second to...everybody.

Their CS team is the craps, IMO, but hey, I'm there, I can (finally) manage most things without them and the site is live whenever I go to it (daily).

I think I'm just too lazy to find a new host... sad I'm running a virtual dedicated server.

I have used EV1 in the past and UK2, cant moan at either, both cheap and run smooth, EV1 gave me way too much bandwidth and UK2 gave me just enough...
