Hi to all. I am in the process of setting up my own online store and would like some advice on the most secure and best webhost. Thank you for your assistance.

there is no such thing as a secure server or host. There are only best effort scenarios. It is best to use a third party that offers the cart, the merchant account and the processing as a package. a reputavle one would be 1shoppingcart which integrates with authorize.net. let them worry about the security. they have more money invested, more experience and resources to handle your security and by using the 3rs party services, you will be relatively indemnified from liability. never ever store your transactions on your own sever, not for one second, not even using https.

the 3rd party service will provide you all the tools you need, help with the merchant account integration and even provide some level of data collection you asked about in the other thread
