Currently, we are redesigning our web site, and have implemented new directory structure and names. I have recommended we implement a 301 permanent redirect.

Currently some of our pages use JavaScript or meta-refresh. In regards to redirects, it occurred to me that we are trying to use those to count hits to a particular ad. I would like to make sure that if we remove the HTML refresh type redirects that we have some way of tracking those hits through our traffic reports.

Any thoughts?

If your doing type 301 redirects your probably creating virtual directories for them correct?
You should still be able to track by directory usage.
