205.188.116.202 - - [13/Mar/2005:05:04:18 -0700] "GET /images/s6_0.gif HTTP/1.0" 304 - "http://www.(my site).com/" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; CS 2000 6.0; Wal-Mart Connect 6.0; Windows 98)
The above code is coming up over and over in my server logs. Is there a Wal-Mart search engine that is spidering my site? The only thing that changes is the time and it shows up every minute for several minutes at a time and the IP address changes occasionally and every now and then the same IP address will come up.
Any insight?

I have never heard of such a search engine but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. But this probably is a spidering tool being used by someone else (a competitor or a SEO working for a competitor) to spider your site regularly. You can configure many of these tools to "advise" the server whatever you would like eg telling it is Elvis visiting, or the Man in the Moon, or Walmart, or Google or whatever.

Wal-mart Connect is a dial-up ISP just like AOL, Earthlink, NetZero, etc. Someone using their dial-up service is visiting your site.
They don't have a search engine.

Makes sense. Btw, is there anything Walmart doesn't sell now?
