I have several business domains hosted on a number of leased Virtual servers. Problem is, some of these sites do 10,000 page-views/day. I always run separate tracking scripts to log the activity on individual sites but I am "croning" (truncating) the apache logs every hour to stay under the Max Server limit (to allow for email overload if it happens).

The apache logs are easy to use and probably hold more information than I am currently recording for the domains. Other than "Get another Server and lease more space", does anyone have a suggestion about how to improve my reporting to clients? It's been this way for five years.

We don't use Off-Site counters, phony third-party visit calculators or anything else that jeopardizes the sites. Might be asking for magic in a bottle If anyone has a cron function that will: Execute a (cron) log download in the early hours and clear the log theeafter, please contact me.
