.. if you've ever heard this phrase from someone who is close to you - "Sometimes I think that computer means more to you than I do!!" (Been there.. ulp.. )

.. if you get excited by the sales of the "left over" Hallowe'en chocolate so that you can stock up.

Well, I must admit, the computer means more to me than the bf . The computer makes me money. He makes me...well, never mind. Seriously though, I have heard that before and there is no good answer to that one. No matter what you are wrong. LOL

you sit at the computer all day at work, go home, and turn the damn thing right back on...
you go to the bookstore, pass up the exciting looking new novels and go straight to the software section

if you would take a bullet for your reliable server

If you use abbreviations such as gf and bf and actually know what they mean. Yet, you take the time to write out the word computer.

...your husband/SO sits just across the hall from you, but you send email or IM instead of yelling "is it time for lunch".

...you're thinking of cancelling your personal phone line so you can afford to add another IP to your cable modem setup.

...You bought a newly built house instead of that old victorian you wanted just because of the better power situation. Also, you got it all wired with Cat5 before you moved in. (true!)

...you give your mother-in-law your Amazon wish list so she can buy you an xmas present and she calls to ask if you want anything other than Flash/HTML instruction books. (true from last year -- this year it'll probably be 3d books)

...you buy a 21" monitor so you can have two windows open at once side by side and one is usually "today's active topics" at SEF.

And finally, you ALWAYS hit the top of the allowable amount for the section 179 computer deductions!

...you start writing whole sentences in abbreviation in this forum and begin a new trend

...you soak up all the harmful rays from your screen, get brain damage years from now, then end up at some nut house, babble codes all day with fellow members from the SEF

... your site is showing up as the #1 site match for TWO of your dream search terms in Yahoo, but your real-world friends don't have a hot clue why you're excited.

You absentmindedly fiddle with the TV remote trying to View >> Source of a TV program. (I did this the other night. There were some cool effects and I wanted to see the Java script that ran it!)

You waste so much time setting up a new site you forget to pay your bills, so now you have to pay the bills, and thank god, you can do it online... - so I better get off these forums and pay my phone and electric bill now!
