The sincere programmers and web developers of the world are most welcome to contribute to our forums...
If they don't want to chat by the water cooler that is their prerogative...
This member lounge is dedicated to having a place to "getaway" from the day in and day out tediousness, repetitiveness and plain boringness of our day to day world as website owners, marketers and search engine freaking know it alls.
So put your smiley-face on that. The point of this entire forum is to HELP PEOPLE. If you missed that, don't bother to post something cool, because - if you just want to vent - go over to MySpace where you can be as simple or sophisticated as you wish.
EXCUSE ME??? I do not really appreciate your comments at all...who are you to judge and just exactly who are you addressing.?

Oh, I think I might have to reach for some fish here...
Can we all just agree that this section is here for enjoyment of shared company?
If someone doesn't care for it, please pass on reading in here.
It's not the sole focus, as clearly the forum caters to the SE crowd. It's just a place to post nonsense, have some fun and range way off topic if the mood strikes us all.
I'm not taking sides in the opinion debate here, but I am suggesting that the Member's Lounge is:
1 - for all members - freely post what you like within the posted rules - I can easily remove the spam.
2 - a place to enjoy some "down-time" off topic
3 - a nice diversion from the norm of our days
...and while Skeptic's comments are very much appreciated, for the record, we don't have an official welcoming committee. If he, or others, are willing to step forward and say hello to new folks, so much the better - it's often a sign of someone who's grateful for having found a good resource and is excited to see others coming to join, too.
So,... who likes diving?

I like diving, in a pool though. Why do you ask SG?

Just getting us pointed in another direction is all.
Sorry about the tear FS - we are all, in fact, the welcoming committee.

Say SG, would you be a Sport and help me out with this flaming arrow that's still lodged into my back? Can't quite reach over to get it

If you don't keep these posts in some kind of relevant order with SUBSTANCE, they lose value, in both digital and human popularity. That is normally true, except, and that's a huge EXCEPT, in the lounge area. There are no hard fast rules hereānot necessary. If you visit the other forum sections under the various subtopics, you'll notice that the postings stay focused for a large part. Even here the postings are at least coherent enough to follow or perhaps we are simply accustomed to the ramblings that make it fun.
Perhaps you feel targeted with the anti-spam teasing. We actually don't harbor anything against you personally. The members just don't like self-promo spam here. It's always been that way since forever in Web world here at SEF .

...It's the attitude you express toward my own original post - and your willingness to participate in a wholesale fun demolition of it - that leaves me wondering if you are not, perhaps, misled by the moment rather than just offended. Perhaps we did get carried away with the notion of teasing the original poster of self-promo. But, it seems spammers don't get the point otherwise that self-promo isn't welcomed. Normally spam posts are deleted outright and we don't see them, but the admins and mods seen it fit to let this thread stay. Sometimes I'd like to point people to my sites too, but I don't because I know the others don't want it. Let us move on from here and make up Good plan?
Take care.

Actually, Curt was in the way and got sandwitched between us
Speaking of which....
I'd like to make toast.....
(raising glass)
To CURT....
...for bravely defending the Lounge's HONOR
...but more importantly, defending OUR right...to be "dah"
...Cheers!

Ooh...alota things! You see, there comes a time in a man's life, when he has to choose between being a tight @$$ from wearing undies all the time, or letting it all hang out in boxers
Aaahh...the cool breeze
Tell you what though, this new "smile therapy" my shrink suggested has been working out GREAT!

Geez, you could have saved yourself a LOT of angst in life by just wearing a kilt all those years...

Funny you should mention that SG coz one day I had my kilt on while walking all jolly like down the street....pampam pampam pampam...
When all of a sudden my skirt I mean my kilt blows over my face. Hadn't seen the air vent below. So as a tribute, I just had to pull a few Monroe moves
Kids across the road didn't seem to think I had what it takes to make it on Broadway
I still see a couple'a them in the waiting room on my way out from the shrink
Go figure
