OK crash, I've added Zeal and GoGuides. If the topic of my site becomes popular, we can start a new thread we don't hijack this one.Yahoo and DMOZ are both actually there (DMOZ is listed as "Open Directory"). What I did was lump the directories in with the engines. I stopped separating engines from directories because I didn't want so many categories. Favorites, Important and Meta/Other is enough, I think. Here's some of the sites I've added and removed over the years... 4Anything Anzwers AT&T.Net Bay9 Canada.com DejaNews DirectHit Excite Freeserve GeneralSearch Go (GoTo) GoTo Infomak JimWorld Meta JimWorld ODP Links2Go Magellan Map.net NationalDirectory NBCi Power Search SearchIT SearchKing SimpleSearch Snap Surfwax WebTop WhatUSeek

Webmaster-Toolkit.com, I just re-read your post and realized you were asking about culled PAGES. Yes, I did. It's the same old issue of advice going out of date, and me not having the heart to keep outdated advice posted, or the time to actually update it.

> We need to edit that JimWorld article. Erwin sold the site that the link is at. http://www.genkiproductions.com/ would be a better link for the article. It's "Edwin" but anyway, I'm glad to see that people are enjoying my early work. I'd recommend a rather good link, but it's part of one of my sites so I don't want to get into trouble. You could find it by doing a little poking around at the quoted URL above, of course. Incidentally, it really would be nice if the archived JimWorld article could be updated with a more recent sig referencing GP

I thought I'd share this with everyone who has a website and worried about broken links. http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html I was searching for some today to check broken links on my site, and found this to be a nice lil'broken link checker.

Just joined 2 days ago and I must say this forum is good. I've been doing SEO for about 5 years now and learning EVERYTHING the hard way. I found in this thread 4 tools/sites that are better than the other stuff I've been using. Well worth the price of admission to this place! Jim

The eventual winner for this one has to be.... www.searchengineforums.com I have learnt more from this site, than from everywhere else put together, and it doesn't stop. Three cheers for here
