Hi

Does anyone know what settings web folders should have (right click folder> properties> security)to make them as secure as possible without stopping the websites from running, no ftp access

Any know how would be good

There's sharing, web sharing, and security. You're only interested in the right-most tab, which controls access from an opperating system level (the most restrictive level). You need the user named IUSR_[machine name] to be listed there (or a group in which the IUSR account is a member), and have at least read access. The second place you control access is through the IIS controls. To make it as secure as possible, remove all other account access, including the built-in Everyone account. The only other one to leave is your login account, and Administrator.

Also, begin your education on Windows security through Web searches or buying a book. There is A LOT to know!!!
