Just found this on the FAQ section of the Uk's biggest host (purportedly).
The secret of the professional SEO has just been uncovered. We'll have to find new jobs now.
How do I get my site to show up in search engines?
Although search engines use a number of different methods to index web sites, a common method is meta tags (see searchenginewatch.com for more information).
If you have webspace with *removed* simply modify your pages to include the appropriate meta tags (consult a handbook or online guide to HTML for guidance).
You should then submit your domain to the major search engines, using either one of the commercial mass-submission sites or manually, following each search engine's "Add URL?" link in turn.
Note that search engines tend to privilege directly-hosted sites over diverted sites. Your chances of getting listed (and ranked) will be much higher if you buy webspace.

I'm just leaving the SEO world with a stick over my shoulder and my wordly goods in a red hanky tied to the end.
I'm gonna be a drfiter.

Well, since many folks think we're grifters already, this should be an easy transition...LOL

Whew!!! Am I ever glad I don't do this stuff for a living.
Now that I have THE SECRET I also won't need to pay anyone to help me out.
Interesting coincidence that an outfit that sells web space has figured out that you are better off buying web space. Strange old world, ain't it??

OK - so you now have the answer!
BUT - do you know the right question?
See, that's what you'll still need us for!
The "secret" may, indeed, be 42, but what is the question...?

See, it was great, I thought. Right up until I saw the link labeled "movements" - then I knew it was a kinky little site...

So solve this for me: I've never been able to figure out if it's "Down in smoke and up in flames" or "Down in flames and up in smoke".
Set me right on this critical issue. All opinions accepted.
While you're at it, you might as well indicate if you are currently living uptown, downtown or out of town. No matter where you're at, you've never felt the felt that I felt 'till you've felt the felt in my old felt hat.

I thinks it's up in smoke and up in flames... but if you see, hear or smell either - you should drop & roll.
