It was a baby boy (called Luke), and it weighed 9lb 15oz and a half (that last bit is important!)
Mother and baby are doing fine
At the moment, its on 3-4oz bottles every 4 hours... bless him, all he does at the moment is eat, sleep and poo. With the occasion cry waiting for his bottle... or when he's being changed!!!
Its great being a Dad!

Congratulations Kev - excellent news!
Glad mother and baby are OK - when do we get to see the pictures?
All you gotta do now is learn to live without sleep

He's a big boy. What was mom feeding him while he was still in the womb? Was he lifting weights before birth? teehee
Another congrats.
Just wait til he's a teenager and driving. They're always cute and cuddly when a newborn, but yah become a worried parent when they start to gain independence.

Toddler Luke: Daddy get me that candy.
Kevchadders: You can't have that--you've had enough candy.
Toddler Luke: (thinks to self: I will throw a temper-tantrum and embarrass and manipulate daddy into getting that candy): Wahhhh wahhhh (stomps feet) eoeoeo wahhhhh (screams and cries in supermarket).
Kevchadders: Now cut that out.
Toddler Luke: (I know daddy won't spank me) wahhh wahhhhh I whaannnnt my candy.
Kevchadders: You're gonna get it in the car if you keep acting up.
Toddler Luke: wahh... OK, but still want candy.
(That's your future in about 2 years)
Kids can be stinkers in the toddler years if they get accustomed to manipulating mommy and daddy and doing so gets them what they want.

The key point here is "and doing so gets them what they want". The solution is to be VERY consistent and NEVER give in. Although it may seem easier to give in at first, believe me you will live to regret that if you do.
Bite the bullet and hold the line at the beginning and not only will your life be far better in the long run but you will also be giving your child a great gift.
People with the toughest life challenges are those who failed to learn that consequences are directly attributable to their actions and THAT begins with not being allowed to manipulate their way through life.

You'll be a great Dad! Just remember loving him (and letting him know you do) is the most important thing of all and with your inquisitive, open mind you'll do super.

One thing that works with toddlers in controlling tantrums is to give them a pinch. It will hurt some for the child, but the next time you tell them to stop screaming, you warn them they'll get another pinch (and then pinch them if they don't stop) and they'll eventually stop doing that unacceptable practice. Some people might think that's mean, but it far better than beating the child like some abusers do. A pinch is not abuse, but one form of child training that is sometimes necessary unfortunately.
