OK, so I'm feeling a bit "fun" at the moment and wanted to get a discussion started.
I'm coming up on my 5 year anniversary here at work, and I was planning a "cigar afternoon" on our patio. The idea has caught on and now the Exec are turning it into a "roast" of me...LOL
I say whatever - so long as I get a couple hours to smoke a nice cigar and enjoy a drink, on the day, I'll be happy. We've all put a tremendous amount of work into this company over the past 5 years - time for some reflection.
While I was tending my humidor here at the office I got to thinking:
I wonder if anyone at SEF likes the odd cigar? I wonder what they enjoy when they decide a refreshing or relaxing drink is in order.
In short, I realized I don't have a clue about most of you when it comes to the important things!
I mean, how embarassing would it be to send bhartzer a Cuban cigar as a way to say thanks for all his help, only to learn he prefers Dominicans...LOL (...and given Fidel is ailing, I'm sure I could get one Cuban cigar through to Bill... )
Or, I might never learn that excell prefers a chardonney to a merlot - or trout to swordfish for that matter.
I might never learn, if I didn't ask, that FlyingRose prefers Hersey's chocolate to Cadbury's...
So, without further ado, here's some of what makes me, me...
Cigars - all-time fave is a Romeo y Julietta Churchill - the almost perfect one-hour smoke. I also enjoy Cuban Montecristos (being Canadian has advantages ).
Drinks - I'm a huge fan of rye , though I also enjoy scotch, gin, dark rum, port and select beers - and all premium items please...
I appreciate a good wine - white, red or rose - quality is quality.
So, there we go.
Anyone else care to venture forth with cigars or drinks they enjoy?

well for me everything has to be the best
it's across the board on that.
Serve me a meal with love in the cooking and I will savour every bite, but a mean thrown together concoction, I will abhour.
I have been known to smoke the odd cigar and remember testing by smell but that's about all.
These days I am more of a connoisseur of such things as spa baths - many are just inferior and not worth undressing for.
My top drop of the moment is a cabernet blend with merlot whereas previously I was a totally Cabernet Sauvignon girl through and through.
The interesting thing about our celebratory or indulgence experiences is that they change with age...

Ok.. I'll play
Cigars - none here thanks. For the most part I can't stand them, but my x would smoke one every so often and when he got the kind that smelled good I didn't mind so much. But some just make me want to blow so those are never allowed near me.
Wine - never been a big wine drinker but my mom took me to a wine tasting event last october (or so) and I discovered a few I like, Hitching Post Pinot Noir Cork Dancer and Fess Parker Viognier are now my favs.
Drinks - all premium, cheap brands give me a headache and make me sick. My current fav is Capt Morgan's Tattoo with Dr. Pepper - YUMMY. Goes well with Sprite also.

Been away for a while. good to be back.
Cigars? an occasional light domestic. I prefer a bowl of black cavendish over a cigar though.
Drinks? Due to medical problems I no longer indulge in the alcoholic beverage. When I did drink it was gin or rum. now it is tea or ginger ale.
