Oligopoly - this is a new word to me. Very interesting...I didn't know that word but it definately defines some realities for me.

Tell me, did you ever hear this word before, if so, in what context?

I think I first heard it in Grade 9 English - as one of the lessons we were doing...but I'm not 100% sure on that...

Either way, it's not used nearly enough, IMO... wink

You might be surprised how many Oligopolies there are. One that comes to mind is Disk data recovery companies. I contacted one before, and I think I remember him saying that there were 20 or less firms that could actually perform hard drive data recovery due to the need of clean rooms and special equipment to recover data from physically damaged hard drive disks.

The USA is moving to Oligopolies which is not real good for the consumer. Yep, interesting term that affects us all in some form.
