Have you noticed the new, sophisticated mob of ridiculous spammers here and in other forums who are actually posting carefully prepared trash instead of the same old drivel everybody's used to?
They sound like old Penthouse personals.
They all start like "I'm a college student and I never thought this would happen to me..." or "I tried SEO for awhile before I found a secret pill that make me smarter than all the ...".
The fact that these idiots exist is infuriating enough. That they have enough leisure time to post drivel constantly puts them over my limit instantly.
So the days are gone when you could recognize spam royale in the first two words. Now, they've (evidently) hired writers, consultants and editors to make their particular flavor of spam less disgusting ... at least to the casual observer.
I used to be able to skip a post in this forum in .08 seconds. Now it takes me 1.02.
So I'm hereby asking all spammers to dumb-it-down again, just for me.

Hahahaha. So there you have it spammers. Could you please give him a break! I mean, 1.02 seconds through posts is a little much isn't it?
Man they drive me nuts. I wonder if SEF's systems can detect their I.Ps and block them from further postings.

Blocking IP's doesn't work very well since most IP's even broadband IP's are dynamic. Blocking an IP may very well block legit visitors later on who use the same IP at another time to visit SEF.
hahaha yeah I hate wasting several seconds more trying to decipher if the post is spam. Fortunately for us here we don't see an awful lot of spam.

There are many ways to whack both the spam and the spammers; and that is done here several times per day every day of the year...

That camera link was not meant as spam despite what the JIMBOT thought. I posted about that digital SLR camera because it had a price tag of $8,000 and I believe (if I remember) it was capable of over 21 mega pixel pictures and had some other super-duper features along with that super-duper price tag. At the time I was quite amused at it's price and so thought I'd share the amusement. The JIMBOT removed my post.
Oh well, can't say my judgment is gonna be perfect all the time. What I thought was amusement was deleted as spam.

Hey g1smd, you missed it. I'm not pointing fingers at anybody for not implementing Nazi-zero-failure spam techniques or anything else. This isn't some off-hand slight or accusation against Forum Management (gimme a break).
I just hate "slick" spammers. I hate spammers that would sell your grandmother a '68 Dodge as a new automobile off the lot just because she forgot to bring her glasses along.
I have full confidence that the admins in the forum are vigilant, courageous, clean, reverent ... and I forget the rest. But the spammers are getting CLEVER.
That's the dig. It's traveling Snake Oil salesmen all over again: Carpetbaggers, Charlatans, Fools and Misfits. While I'm on that Curt, what-the-Hell do cameras have to do with Search Engine Optimization in ANY respect? Let's just kill that idea right now before ten thousand photographers join the forum to find out more... What do you say? Okay?
Let's just stick to the topic of vile, bottom-feeding spammers who now spell-check their insulting mini-stories just to irritate g1smd (and me too I suppose).
I'll tell you now, if we don't stop these spammers now, the only thing that will be left in a million or so years is bowling balls and disposable diapers. What's the postscript to that?
Yep, it must be them d****d spammers for sure.

On that occasion I didn't read the post right through and I was in the middle of deleting some drive-by spam, and away it went with the rest.
I believe that someone else already dug it back out of the hole I chucked it in. Nothing is ever deleted. It is tagged, filed, and logged, in case it is ever needed again.

We're also webmasters who take digital pictures to put up on web sites. AND, and, and... this IS the lounge area to talk about other stuff and it doesn't necessary need to be related to SEO (hint: check out the myriads of past posts by many others). There you have it .

Drive-By Spammers are a real pain, especially tag-team Drive-By Spammers. Anyone remember Harmony Major? Actually I don't remember if that was here or WMW, but if you do recall, she got smoked real quick.
